VI-RDC Remediation Design, Commissioning & Testing Protocol
The key to Vaprotect’s mitigation systems center around our VI-RDC protocols, a comprehensive set of remediation design, commissioning and testing procedures, individually developed for each application.
VI-PS Performance Specifications
VI-PS is a set of specifications for the performance of the VIM™ Series Mitigation products, which have been developed to achieve a certain level of performance (vapor removal efficiency). The specifications consist of numerical acceptance criteria for various performance characteristics such as differential pressures (above and below the slab), ventilation rates, and static pressures.
VI-DDR Defensible Documentation Record
VI-DDR is a package of information created in a standard and consistent format that provides the data, forms, and photographs required to demonstrate that each mitigation system was designed, installed, and commissioned in accordance with regulatory-approved protocols. The DDR provides a legal defense with respect to existing conditions in the structure, as well as documenting that certain activities were performed as required. The DDR package is thoroughly reviewed by independent QC reviewers using checklists designed to confirm that system performance meets established specifications.
VI-DM Data Management System
For larger VI mitigation projects, our data management team is called upon to manage and validate data generated during the project. These efforts support the defensible documentation record needed to address public scrutiny and respond to potential litigation.
VI-ERP Energy Reimbursement Protocol
Vaprotect®’s VI-ERP establishes an energy reimbursement protocol that can be used to contractually arrange for energy payments to affected property owners. This protocol reduces the burden of managing multiple contracts and provides a consistent approach among the parties.
Installation and commissioning
With nearly 1,000 Vaprotect VIM™ Series mitigation systems in operation, O’Brien & Gere is the industry leader in supplying total, 360° VI resources to industry, consultants and attorneysnationwide. Our thorough understanding of vapor intrusion and our ability to manage the regulatory landscape provides the perfect complement to our VIM Series of vapor intrusion products.
Lead and asbestos abatement
In older residential settings and some commercial structures, the presence of lead-based paint or asbestos may complicate the VI construction process. We have developed a three-step approach to handling these issues: evaluate a facility for the presence and condition of asbestos and lead; prepare an effective management plan; andimplement the recommended asbestos and lead removal program.
Maintenance & inspection
Our expert staff of maintenance engineers and technicians will perform routine and emergency maintenance and inspection activities to verify that your VIM™ Series installation is functioning as designed.
Project management
Vaprotect’s Program Managers have an average of more than 20 years of environmental management experience. Let us put that knowledge to work for you on your next vapor intrusion project.
